Canada Competition Bureau found that Facebook's privacy claims were not consistent with the way it shared personal data of users with some third-party developers

Canada's opposition guard dog said on Tuesday it had fined Facebook Inc C$9 million ($6.5 million) after an examination found the interpersonal organization made "deceiving" guarantees about close to home data of Canadians on Facebook and Messenger.

The Competition Bureau said it found that Facebook's protection claims were not predictable with the manner in which it imparted individual information of clients to some outsider designers.

"Despite the fact that we don't concur with the Commissioner's decisions, we are settling this issue by going into an assent understanding and not challenging the ends for the motivations behind this understanding," a Facebook representative said.

The world's biggest informal community has confronted wide analysis from legislators and controllers over its security rehearses. It consented to pay a record $5 billion fine a year ago to settle a U.S. Government Trade Commission information protection test.
