In Gujarat, the total number of cases of Covid-19 has reached up to 36,858 as 735 new cases were reported during the last 24 hours. According to health authorities in  Ahmedabad  17 patients have lost their lives taking the total death due to Covid-19 in the state up to 1962.

"Gujarat has recorded more than 700 new cases on the third consecutive day. Out of 735 new cases recorded in the state, the maximum 201 cases were reported from Surat, while Ahmedabad recorded 168 new cases. According to official sources, out of 8573 active cases in the state, conditions of 69 patients are critical and they are on a ventilator. 423 patients have been discharged from various hospitals after recovery during the last 24 hours. With this, the total patients recovered from the Covid-19 have gone up to 26323. More than 4,18000 tests have been carried out in the state to date. Meanwhile, Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has added 17 more areas of the city in the micro containment zone following the detection of new cases.

Maharashtra's COVID-19 tally today rose to 2,11,987 with 5,368 fresh cases. According to the state health department, 204 new deaths were reported today taking the toll to 9,206. A total of 3,522 patients were discharged from hospitals, taking the number of recovered persons to 1,15,262. While there are 87,681 active cases in the state at present.

Mumbai's largest slum, Dharavi, today reported 11 new COVID-19 cases, taking the total count to 2,334. A senior Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) official said Dharavi has only 509 active cases now as 1,735 patients have already recovered and discharged from COVID-19 facilities.

In Andhra Pradesh, 1263 people have tested positive for COVID- 19 while 424 people have been discharged from various hospitals after recovery during the last 24 hours.

A total of 17,365 COVID positive cases have been recorded so far in the state and out of them, 7252 people have recovered. About 9874 people are under treatment. Andhra Pradesh has conducted over one million Covid-19 tests so far. According to the Chief Minister’s Office, the mortality rate due to Covid-19 infection stands at 1.24 percent in the state.

In Meghalaya, eight COVID-19 cases were detected today taking the total number of active cases to 36. Health and Family Welfare Minister AL Hek informed that out of these new cases, one is from West Garo Hills district, one from the Ri-Bhoi district and six from East Khasi Hills district including five BSF personnel. Meghalaya has so far 80 confirmed COVID 19 cases with 36 active cases, 43 recovered and one deceased.

Meanwhile, the Union Government has said, a total of  4,24,433 people affected by Coronavirus have recovered in the country so far. In the past 24 hours, 15,350 people recovered from COVID-19 and with this, the recovery rate reached 60.86 percent. The Health and Family Welfare Ministry yesterday said a total of 24,248 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in the country during the last 24 hours taking the total number of cases to 6,97,413.
