India, August, 21, 2026: The Healthy Indian Project (THIP) has won the ‘Breakthrough Digital Patient Education Initiative’ award at the 5th edition of the India Vaccine Leaders Conclave, held in Pune. The award was given to THIP for its digital patient education platform, THIP Academy, and its work in developing evidence-based digital education around vaccination.
The India Vaccine Leaders Conclave is an annual conference that brings together global biotech executives, researchers and government officials to advance discussions around vaccine technology, innovation and trade. The award ceremony recognised organisations and individuals working across the vaccine and healthcare ecosystem. Among the other winners were Serum Institute of India, Biological E, Pharma Next and Dr Dang’s Lab.
Speaking on the occasion, THIP’s Managing Editor Neelam Singh said, “Better vaccination coverage is not only about access to vaccines; it is also about people having the right information to make informed decisions. Through THIP Academy, we are trying to bridge that information gap by bringing evidence-based medical knowledge into a format that people can easily understand. This recognition reinforces our belief that digital patient education and health literacy have an important role to play in improving healthcare outcomes in India.”
THIP Academy currently hosts three vaccine-related educational courses, Adult Vaccination, Pediatric Vaccination and HPV Vaccination, designed to help people better understand vaccines, vaccination and related health information.
THIP, which is also a member of the WHO’s Vaccine Safety Net, has been a forerunner in spreading vaccine awareness and evidence-based health information in India. Its work combines health media, fact-checking and digital patient education to help people navigate increasingly complex health information.
The company has recently partnered with multiple medical associations, including ISLM, ISSR and others, to build evidence-based digital educational courses around various health conditions, treatments and vaccinations. These partnerships bring clinical expertise into digital patient education and aim to make complex medical information easier for common people to understand and has also been working on health misinformation, including vaccine misinformation, since the COVID pandemic. A signatory of the International Fact-Checking Network (IFCN), THIP has been fact-checking health misinformation on social media platforms and supports Big Tech giants like Meta as a third-party fact checker to identify and address medical misinformation across platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Threads and WhatsApp.
The recognition at the India Vaccine Leaders Conclave comes as THIP continues to expand its work in digital patient education, vaccine awareness, health literacy and evidence-based health information. Through THIP Academy and its wider health information ecosystem, the organisation is working to make reliable medical knowledge more accessible and understandable to people across India.
