In Maharashtra, 11,141 people yesterday tested positive for COVID-19 infection. With these new cases, the total number of active corona cases has reached 97,983. To date, Maharashtra has registered 22,19,727 corona affected patients.
Yesterday, 6013 corona patients were discharged after recovery in the state. A total of 20,68,044 affected people have recovered in the state so far, which is 93.17 per cent of total patients. The state recorded 38 fatalities due to COVID-19 yesterday. The state’s case fatality rate is 2.36 per cent and total deaths due to COVID19 has reached 52,478.
Currently, around 4.39 lakh peoples are in-home quarantine and 4,650 are in institutional quarantine in the state. A maximum number of patients are registered in Mumbai City, Nagpur, Pune & Pimpri-Chinchwad, Aurangabad and Yavatmal. Meanwhile, the Aurangabad district administration has announced a mini lockdown in the district from 11th March to 4th April. District collector Sunil Chavan said that complete lockdown will be observed on Saturday-Sunday while partial lockdown will be on weekdays.
During this period all type of religious, political and social gathering, agitations, weekly markets, schools and colleges will be closed. Marriages with large gathering will also be not allowed. On Saturday-Sunday only essential activities will be permitted. All employees of private firms and companies will have to undergo the COVID test every 15 days.
