▴ Maharashtra reports 3000+ new Covid-19 cases for third day in a row
On February 12, Mumbai reported more than 500 new Covid-19 cases for third straight day while Maharashtra reported more than 3,000 cases.

Maharashtra has been reporting more than 3,000 new Covid-19 cases for the past three days. The state capital Mumbai too has witnessed a rise in new cases.

As per the state government's daily bulletin on Covid-19 cases, on February 10, Maharashtra reported 3,451 cases and 30 deaths. On February 11, the figure was 3,297 cases and 25 deaths, while on February 12, the state reported 3,670 cases and 36 deaths.

The state's recovery rate stands at 95.91 per cent and there are 31,474 active cases.

As on February 12, of the 1.52 crore tests conducted in the state, 20,56,575 have tested positive for Covid-19.

At present, a total of 1,68,087 people are in home quarantine and 1,789 people are in institutional quarantine across Maharashtra.

On February 12, Mumbai reported more than 500 new Covid-19 cases for third straight day.

Feb 12: 599 cases and 4 deaths

Feb 11: 510 cases and 3 deaths

Feb 10: 558 cases and 4 deaths

The Centre has already expressed concerns over the new Covid-19 cases in Maharashtra and has constituted a team to assess the state's preparedness.

Doctor Om Srivastava, Director, Infectious Diseases, Jaslok Hospital and member of the state's Covid-19 task force said, "The situation isn't alarming as of now. But it definitely needs to be seen where the numbers are going and immediate corrective measures will have to be taken. We need to be very cautious."

Meanwhile, BMC officials said they are keeping a close watch on the Covid-19 cases and are in touch with health experts.
