New Delhi, 9 May 2026: To celebrate Mother's Day, the Marengo Asia International Institute of Neuro & Spine (MAIINS) organised a special webinar, which highlighted the need to take care of the brain health of mothers. From stress, fatigue, anxiety, headaches, poor sleep, and emotional burnout to memory fatigue, the session focused on how a mother’s brain and mental well-being are deeply affected while caring for everyone else.
The webinar was led by Dr. Praveen Gupta, Chairman, MAIINS, who highlighted the unseen burden that mothers carry mentally and emotionally and stressed the need to focus on women’s brain and emotional health.
Speaking during the webinar, Dr Praveen Gupta said, "Mothers carry multiple emotions simultaneously at the same time. A mother hardly sleeps. Beyond being a mother at all points in time, she is also a woman who has to do everything else. They have a lot of load on their brain."
Dr Praveen Gupta added, "This can lead to cumulative exhaustion over a period of time, which can cost their health dearly.”
He further explained that mothers may experience “brain fog, small memory lapses, and even pseudodementia due to continuous multitasking and lack of sleep.” He stressed that “Sleep is very important for motor regulation.”
Sharing practical advice for mothers, he said, “Sleep is the body's restorative charging mechanism – a deep sleep of 6-8 hours is very important. Or use daytime naps to catch up on that.”
The participants at the webinar shared their experiences with Dr Praveen Gupta and sought suggestions to improve their mental health.
Dr. Kirti Yadav, Head, Integrated Marketing and Strategic Business Unit Head – Rehab at MAIINS, moderated the webinar and announced free basic psychological and physiotherapy assessments for all participants of the session.
