Positive cases came out of 100 samples after the passengers from Mumbai-Goa train were tested

Four passengers, who arrived Goa from Mumbai on a train, Sunday, have tested positive for COVID-19, surging the total count to 26.
State health minister Vishwajit Rane has confirmed that those Coronavirus positive cases came out of 100 samples of the passengers from Mumbai-Goa train were tested at Goa Medical College and Hospital's virology lab for final confirmation.
These four cases on Sunday surged the number of COVID-19 cases to 13 and the final tally in the State goes up to 26.
Rane reportedly divulged that all the 26 patients have been admitted to a specially-designated COVID-19 hospital in Margao town of South Goa.
Goa was a green zone since May 1 after all the previously found seven COVID-19 patients recovered. In the last few days, the coastal state has witnessed a spike in the number of cases.
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, however, claimed that there is no community transmission in the State. Six Rajdhani Express passengers from the train that arrived on Saturday have been tested positive during the last 24 hours. It was complemented by three workers who came to Goa from neighbouring States as part of the resumption of industrial units, have also tested positive, the official said.

Reportedly, according to a State Health official Goa tested 1,097 samples that were drawn on Sunday of which 623 tested negative while 13 were found positive.

Goa has jolted back to action to strengthen its testing facilities, engaging high-end testing facilities across district hospitals in Margao, Mapusa and sub-district hospital in Ponda.

Meanwhile, on the better side of the spectrum, 600 patients were treated for Coronavirus infection and discharged across Maharashtra. State Health Minister Rajesh Tope informed that a maximum number of cured COVID19 patients are from Mumbai, Pune, Nashik, and Malegaon regions and so far 7,688 patients have been treated and discharged across the state. Presently 24,161 patients are undergoing treatment for COVID19 and the number of positive patients in Maharashtra has risen to 33,053. In view of the growing cases, the state government earlier in the day extended the ongoing curbs until May 31, hours before the national lockdown was extended for a similar duration.

 The Minister informed that as per the new guidelines issued by the Centre regarding the discharge of Coronavirus patients, henceforth asymptomatic COVID 19 positive patients will be discharged on the 10th day of the hospitalisation. Besides this, the Centre’s fresh guidelines regarding regions where clusters of infected patients have been found across State, are also being implemented. Presently there are 1,688 active containment zones in State and in last 24 hours, 14,972 teams have surveyed 63.83 lakh people across State. Meanwhile, 5000 migrant workers and people stranded in Raigad district and Navi Mumbai left for their homes in Uttar Pradesh yesterday. The three Shramik Special Trains with 24-coaches each left of Azamgarh, Lucknow and Basti regions of UP from Panvel station at Navi Mumbai. All travellers underwent a medical examination at the station before boarding the train.
