Run organised to create awareness for Cerebral Palsy

Titled "CP Run”, it was flagged off by Sri Amaranath Reddy garu, CRO, IT Dept, Govt of Telangana, highlighting the importance of regular physical activities to maintain healthy lifestyles.

Hyderabad, 17.09.2023 — A run was organised on Sunday in the city to raise awareness about Cerebral Palsy (CP) and extend support to those in need.  The run was organised at Hyderabad Central University. This event was dedicated to focusing on Cerebral Palsy and to garner vital support for the Dheemahi Cerebral Palsy Rehabilitation Centers run by SAKSHAM, a distinguished nationwide voluntary organisation devoted to enhancing the lives of differently-abled individuals. There are two Dheemahi centres, one situated at Golnaka, Hyderabad and the other at Tandur, Vikarabad district.

Cerebral palsy is a condition that affects many newborn babies, predominantly from underprivileged backgrounds. Due to the severe physical and mental disability, children with CP need lifelong support.

Hundreds of employees of IT organisation Servicenow have enthusiastically participated in the run with unity and compassion, embodying the spirit of inclusivity that SAKSHAM champions.

Speaking at the event Dr G Veda Prakash, President of SAKSHAM Telangana explained how SAKSHAM is enabling children with CP to lead near-normal life through various therapies and medical interventions.

Mr Sumeet Mathur, Vice President and MD of Servicenow India, which supports SAKSHAM through its CSR and Mr A Dayakar Rao, vice president of SAKSHAM Telangana also participated in the event.
