223 new COVID-19 cases REPORTED in Delhi Yesterday
The Delhi health department on Friday reported that 223 new COVID-19 cases and two deaths were reported in Delhi on Friday, taking the total number of cases to 3,738.
751 new COVID-19 cases reported in Mumbai
The MCGM announced 751 new COVID-19 cases were reported in Mumbai on Friday, taking the total number of cases to 7,625.
CISCE says schools can give provisional admission to ICSE students for class 11
The Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations on Friday announced that schools may give "provisional admission to the ICSE (class 10) students into class 11, subject to Board results".
"The schools may also begin/continue online classes for them, while awaiting the conduct of remaining papers," the statement added.
Railways extends cancellation of passenger trains till 17 May
The Ministry of Railways on Friday reported that the cancellation of all passenger train services has been extended till 17 May.
"Movement of migrant workers, pilgrims, tourists,students and other persons stranded at different places to be carried out by Shramik special trains. Freight and Parcel train operations shall continue," the statement said.
Maharashtra : 1,008 new COVID-19 cases till Friday
The Maharashtra health department said that 1,008 new COVID-19 cases were reported in the state on Friday, which is the highest single-day jump of cases in the state. The total number of cases rose to 11,506.
MHA issues new guidelines for workplaces:
In context with the relaxations in lockdown and resuming work,MHA issued guidelines on the workplace etiquette of wearing of face cover which is compulsory in all work places and adequate stock of such face covers should be made available
All persons in charge of work places shall ensure social distancing as per the guidelines issued by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, both within the work places and in company transport
Social distancing at work places shall be ensured through adequate gaps between shifts, different timings for the lunch breaks of staff, etc.
Centre lifts restrictions on agriculture activities
The Centre on Friday lifted restrictions on all agriculture activities, "including sowing, harvesting, procurement and marketing operations in the agricultural supply chain", The Indian Express reported.
"Animal husbandry activities are now fully permitted, including inland and marine fisheries. All plantation activities are allowed, including their processing and marketing," the report added.
